About

Welcome to L.A. Crossword Confidential. In March 2009 the L.A. Times crossword puzzle began to be syndicated more widely than it had previously, and three friends thought new solvers might like to have a place to get help, check their solutions, and talk about the puzzle. Through May 2010, Rex Parker, Amy Reynaldo (Orange), and I took turns entertaining you with our sparkling puzzle commentary. Then Rex and Amy remembered that they already had other blogs and couldn't quite recall how they had gotten themselves roped into this whole thing.

So now it's just me, PuzzleGirl. I've solved crossword puzzles off and on all my life, but the obsession bit me after seeing "Wordplay." I participated in my first ACPT in 2008 and hope to never miss another one. Seriously. When I walked into that room, I felt like I had finally found my people. I've had three puzzles published in the L.A. Times so far: one collaboration with Michael Sharp (a/k/a Rex Parker), the other two with Doug Peterson. And you haven't seen the last of me. :-)

When I'm not solving puzzles, I'm a soccer mom of two who lives in the Washington, D.C. area and drives a mini-van. I'm a voracious reader and an avid Hawkeye wrestling fan. I type faster than anyone I know and my blood pressure is excellent.
