(<i>american heritage dictionary of the english language</i>, 4th ed.) full disclosure: i looked in about 10 online dictionaries and it's the only one that had this definition.<br /><br />not wild about themes like this, but at least HEAVENLY SPIRIT and AMERICAN LEAGUER are both in-the-language phrases.<br /><br />gary lowe, why does the grid strike you as ambitious? three theme answers is generally regarded as unambitious, regardless of the lengths.
