A delightful pursuit, in my humble opinion!

Your rather erudite assessment of this puzzle bothers me in it's tone of arrogance, pomposity and conceit. One shouldn't need an Oxford education to complete a puzzle, either.

Your own use of the English language is rather impressive--but you already know that....ddbmcnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626052240584383873.post-70503226076388914022010-07-26T06:08:49.549-07:002010-07-26T06:08:49.549-07:00@ anon: Nope@ anon: NopeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626052240584383873.post-45508656980354357792010-07-25T18:37:50.822-07:002010-07-25T18:37:50.822-07:00Anon: Your weekly rants are becoming tiresome.Anon: Your weekly rants are becoming tiresome.PuzzleGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06835502266781516627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626052240584383873.post-5345237716193205052010-07-25T16:32:32.888-07:002010-07-25T16:32:32.888-07:00Isn't it sad, though, that we have abrogated o...Isn't it sad, though, that we have abrogated our solving techniques to our computers? It used to be a sense of Literary History, a thorough knowledge of our dynamic language, a layman's reading of the Bible, an in depth study of world history - all these cognitive skills and a bit linguistic cleverness was all you needed to solve the Sunday Crossword. Now the compilers of these puzzlers have sold out to pop culture (i.e. roles in movies, awards, titles), expediency (made up abbrevs.)and silliness in inserting letters to try to form a pun. I'm weary of using GOOGLE to solve these disasters of superfluous and arcane information. Anyone agree???Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626052240584383873.post-41931356660473984772010-07-25T13:41:26.094-07:002010-07-25T13:41:26.094-07:00Enjoyable puzzle. Being Californian, I had an advantage in knowing YREKA and CHASENS, but didn't know ANTONIA, MEKHI, or MARAT.

Thanks, Sylvia and PG.JIMMIEnoreply@blogger.com
